Background
The inspiration for this social club/community came last year, during the second round of the Government’s nationwide Lockdown. With salons closed for an extended period of time, women kept reaching out to me for hair help, so I decided to host a virtual haircare course. Twenty women, of all different ages, hair types, and hair concerns (some of whom I had never met before!) signed up. They attended the live online lessons, read the supporting class blogs, did the live hand-on styling practicals, and even played silly games. I was as happy as the students were to see their hair and capabilities transform during the time. But what sent me over the moon was the natural group dynamic and interaction – students shared their progress, encouraged each other, reached out and gave advice to others with similar concerns, answered each other’s questions when I wasn’t available, shared hard-to-find items they had bought, even shared sale events. And WE HAD FUN – so much so that we were sad to end it and agreed that it should be continued and developed into something and include other related content/courses (e.g. brow shaping, makeup application, etc).
That’s the inspiration, here are the details…
The Astyled Society is a private social hair, beauty, and lifestyle club/community open only to my clients (to control Trolls and Spammers and other undesirables. Additionally, no men or children allowed).
Membership gives you:

· Opportunity for in-person meet-ups (with discounts on tickets)
· Membership fee is only $50 per month
· Monthly membership fee is due by the 29th of the preceding month (so that a current members list can be sent to the vendors on the 30th).
· You can ‘unsubscribe’ at any time (and still get access to your current month)
